Transportation prototypes

Description

Done for Spectral.

Prototyped in Blender. Getting back on modeling after quite a while. These are not finished models, just exploring ideas, silhouettes, forms and shapes.

1. Somewhat traditional, top suspension with magnetic discs.

2. Simpler, somewhat more powerful silhouette overall, top and bottom suspension both valid, it has magnets on both sides.

3. The most elegant of the prototypes so far, a bit car-like. Bottom "suspension", magnetic discs.

I prefer number 2 and 3. From what I can see with number 2 opening more windows to make it look more like a civilian vehicle would be nice.

Although I like number 3 the main problem is that we need the "bus version" so the central part marked by two vertical lines may be longer. The remark "make it look more like a civilian / public transport vehicle" still applies but here I don't really know how to do this without making significant changes (not to the silhouette tho).

Conceptually, in terms of how it would function, I made a blend file which I emailed you. In same blend I show proposed scheme for double rail with flat wheels I feel functionally something may be awfully wrong with what I done but it kind of looks 'stately' as the tilted wheels in #3 really give a 'sports vehicle / concept car' hint that does not reflect proposed function.

Projected capacity 16-24-32 people (not sure) - a 'double length' version could double that capacity (with a qualified junction in middle?).

I think it would be more interesting to have the inside modeled esp. if the doors can open, in some cases K may be able to walk inside e.g. enter at one end drop on a lower roof at the other end, or such.
We can animate this and K could operate some of these using little consoles, maybe even a swipe card.

I don't really think this vehicle would need to negotiate turns, just shoot back and forth over variable (usually short) distances.

Okay so that's what I thought...
